Vineman 70.3 race 2 back from injury never doubt a PB!



The swim was staged at Johnson's beach Geurneville California,near the beautiful Santa Rosa and entirely surrounded by wineyards!A great post race delight fo a red wine lover!;) The swim was great fun with flat fresh water making it super fast,I exited in 4th place and 30 seconds off the leaders.

The bike course took us through endless miles of vinyeards and wineries not to mention chalk hill 385 foot climb at the 8-km mark just to tst the legs.This is where I dropped my bike chain and certainly not at the right time, loosing time to the chase pack.I entered T2 some 8 min from the leaders Amy Marsh, Mel Rollinson and Leanda SuperBird Cave!



The run lead us from Windsor High School through some short sharp undulations  around a vinyard loop and back slighlty down hill to the finish.I managed to pull out a great 121 run and run myself from 12th into 6th place and in the money and points for Hawaii KRP.

The most remarkable thing was my run split was the fastest time I have ever run in a 70.3 after 4 weeks of almost no running let alone quality running!

This was fortunately a huge positive I could take away from the race.It showed my super run form before IM Cairns was still somewhat there.It gives me confidence to look back and realise just how much my run leg has come along!

Huge thank you to the organiser's of Vineman for the magnificent job on hosting such a great well organised and super fun event.A huge congrats to my team mate Leanda who held on for 5th after leading for quite some time.Meredith and Mel 1st and 2nd place where definitely in a league of their own out there, super efforts!
