Everyone talks about what training they did, how fast they went, how fast or how hard!

However you don't hear many athletes saying, "wow that was a hard core recovery session", or "wow what a recovery set I had today!"

I never before have believed so much in a word, not commonly used by me in the past.. 'RECOVERY'.

We all underestimate the importance of rest and recovery, and now with my coach Siri, my reward is exactly this ...RECOVERY.

In training we hit the numbers we need and once all that has been met, I am treated to do doing absolutely NOTHING. Ok well not nothing but certainly working very hard at recovering the best I can.

There are so many ways an athlete can regenerate themselves, and make sure the body is ready to go again when it needs to.

I have always been a big fan of the recovery shake, high in protein and your aminos, to allow your muscles to recover and repair. I believe it really helps to get a good shake in after a tough workout!

All of us love massage, but it can be expensive and sometimes not quite justified if you haven't had the great week of training you were expecting!

Something I looked into was the 'recovery boots' - almost everyone owns compression socks of some type, I wanted something a little extra!

I have noticed it reduces swelling (from inadequate venous flow), massages all of the muscles in feet, ankles, calves, thighs, all of the lower extremities and much more!
